I recognize quite some buildings. I have been 4 times in Paris and enjoyed it so much. It was only 5 hours drive from my birthplace in Holland and I had a Belgian friend who took me. Love the Art Nouveau pieces as wellMarjahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17458942200244031009noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8796960161183320830.post-51705627640721995962019-01-14T21:40:40.488-05:002019-01-14T21:40:40.488-05:00That is a beautiful scarf. It's about the only major attraction in the city that we haven't visited... We'll have to spend some time there the next time we drive over to the Music City. Interesting about the International Exposition in Paris...great photos and postcards. (I love postcards and collect them too!)

Its a shame that so many buildings were temporary but of course Paris is loaded with beautiful old building and monuments. Having read a lot about the World's Columbian Exposition in Chicago back in 1893, it was sad that so many beautiful buildings were just temporary. Only a couple of them still stand.

FYI, the only World's Fair/Exposition to turn a profit was held in Knoxville TN back in 1982.

Have a Happy and Healthy New Year! I can't think of a better subject and especially for you (and me!). Much of this reminded me of the fabulous Mucha exhibition I saw in France in October. (I don't know if you saw that post or not, but this would have just thrilled you to the core!) In fact, all my France posts are in the November section of my blog if you decide to catch up. The Klimt one was incredible too.)

Oh, what a way to spend the day. I wouldn't have wanted to leave and I will wait eagerly for your next post.

I am so touched with the elegant scarf you found from your husband. I would have cried buckets, I think -- a mix of joy, sadness and pent up emotion. What a treasure.

Speaking of treasures, treasure you and wishing you a happier 2019.
